Bachelor’s degree in Education, valid state Teaching license or certification, and 1+ years Teaching experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time General Education Science Teacher position is available for the current school year in a high school setting located in Harvey, Louisiana. This contract role starts ASAP and continues through May 22, 2026. The opportunity involves teaching high school students and working Monday through Friday, 7 hours a day with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break, totaling 35 hours per week according to the school calendar. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver engaging science lessons aligned with curriculum standards for high school students. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student learning and growth. Assess and monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback. Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school activities to support student success. Maintain accurate records and adhere to school policies and procedures. Qualifications: Active Louisiana Department of Education certification in General Education Science is required. Candidates must be currently certified; the district will not accept Temporary Authorization to Teach (TAT). Experience teaching science at the high school level is preferred. Strong classroom management and communication skills. Commitment to student development and academic achievement.
