An opportunity is available for a dedicated educator specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing instruction within a K-12 public school setting located in Harvey, Louisiana. This contract position runs through the current school year, ending in late May 2026. The role requires active Louisiana Department of Education certification and offers the chance to support students across a range of grade levels in Jefferson Parish. Key Qualifications: Active Louisiana DOE Teaching Certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education Experience working with K-12 students with hearing impairments Strong knowledge of specialized instructional strategies and communication methods Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment Responsibilities: Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students Monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly Maintain accurate documentation and comply with state and district policies Participate in team meetings and contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) development Support students academic, social, and communication development within a full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, aligned with the school calendar Location: Harvey, Louisiana Employment Type: Contract for the current school year Schedule: Full-time, 35 hours per week, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break This position offers a fast hiring process with interview scheduling typically within 24 hours and prompt decisions.
