Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Special Education teaching opportunity is available at an elementary school in Burnsville, MN, with a contract running through June 5, 2026. This position involves working with students across all disability categories within a manageable caseload of 15 to 20 children, focusing primarily on kindergarten through second grade. Key Responsibilities: Deliver individualized instructional programs tailored to students with diverse disabilities. Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to implement effective classroom strategies. Conduct assessments and maintain detailed documentation of student progress. Participate in individualized education program (IEP) meetings and contribute to goal development. Provide behavioral and social-emotional support as needed. Qualifications and Experience: Current Tier 3 or Tier 4 Special Education teaching license required. Experience working with elementary age students, particularly grades K-2. Ability to manage a caseload of 15-20 students with a wide range of disabilities. Strong communication and collaboration skills with colleagues, families, and service providers. Commitment to inclusive education and individualized student support. Position Details: Location: Burnsville, MN Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (37.5 hours per week) Duration: Contract through June 5, 2026 Caseload: 15-20 students with varied disabilities Worksite: Single building, Vadnais Elementary (grades K-2) This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on young learners' educational journeys by providing tailored support and fostering an inclusive classroom environment.
