A contract Special Education Teacher position is available in the North Charleston, SC area, serving K-12 students during the current school year. This full-time role, Monday through Friday, offers the opportunity to work in diverse educational settings supporting students with varying needs, including those with intellectual disabilities and autism. Key Responsibilities: Deliver specialized instruction to students in Low Incidence and Intensive Developmental Support classrooms. Support a challenging classroom environment at Liberty Hill Academy, focusing on students with intellectual disabilities and autism. Collaborate closely with assigned Teaching Assistants, Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT), and Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA) to implement effective, individualized instruction. Maintain compliance with state licensure requirements and adhere to individualized education programs (IEPs). Qualifications and Experience: Active South Carolina State Licensure for Special Education Teachers is required; Multi-Categorical licensure preferred. Experience working with students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and managing behavioral challenges is highly preferred. Prior experience working in Low Incidence or Intensive Developmental Support classrooms is an asset. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Location: Positions are available at multiple schools across the North Charleston and West Ashley areas, plus a challenging classroom setting at Liberty Hill Academy.
