Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This full-time elementary special education teaching position supports K-5 students in a co-teaching environment at an elementary school in Athens, GA. The role is a contracted opportunity for the upcoming school year (CSY), offering a collaborative setting to positively impact students learning and development. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with general education teachers to deliver inclusive instruction for students with special needs Implement individualized education programs (IEPs) and support diverse learners Utilize effective classroom management and differentiated teaching strategies Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation Participate in team meetings and communicate regularly with parents and school staff Desired Qualifications: Valid Elementary Education certification for the state of Georgia Experience working with elementary-aged children (K-5) Background in special education and co-teaching models preferred Strong interpersonal and communication skills Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment Additional Details: Location: Athens, GA Position type: Contract for the current school year Work schedule: Full time, 37.5 hours per week Note: Three reference checks required prior to interviews; one reference must be a current or recent principal or assistant principal This role offers a meaningful opportunity to make a difference while working alongside dedicated educational professionals.
