Tessera is a national non‑profit, government contractor dedicated to “Creating Opportunities for People with Disabilities,” hiring and supporting individuals and veterans with disabilities.

Typical Duties:

Operate tractors, semi‑trailers, and full trailers over 24,000 lbs GWVR.

Perform heavy trucking services, including equipment/material movement off‑station, in accordance with NRLINST 4600.1H.

Transport heavy construction equipment and overweight/oversized loads.

Provide medium trucking service for vehicles under 24,000 lbs.

Perform cargo delivery as assigned.

Carry out preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and keep it fully operational.

Qualifications:

Minimum 1 year of vehicle operation experience; equivalent combination of experience and education accepted.

Effective oral and written communication skills.

Excellent customer service skills.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds for extended periods.

Additional Requirements:

Valid CDL‑A with passenger endorsement; must obtain and maintain Tessera’s insurance coverage; manual transmission operation required.

Must meet federal guidelines: DOT pre‑employment drug screening, medical examination certification, and cleared query with the FMCSA Clearinghouse.

Must obtain and maintain applicable security clearances; background checks required.

Must possess/obtain a valid U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s Identification Card.

Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL ID‑compliant driver’s license or an acceptable alternative such as a U.S. passport or military ID.
