Resource Room / Special Education Teacher 2 Onsite Openings Location: Howell, MI | K-12 School | 2025-2026 School Year (Approx. 01/26/202606/12/2026) | Contract Position This full-time opportunity is for Special Education Teachers to support predominantly self-contained classrooms, serving up to 22 students per caseload. Candidates will provide instruction and support to students ranging from early learning (pre-K) through grade 12. Preference is given to those holding Michigan Teacher Certification with endorsements in Emotional Impairment (EI), Cognitively Impaired (CI), or Learning Disabilities (LD) for Resource Room roles. Key Responsibilities: Deliver specialized instruction tailored to individual student needs in self-contained and resource room settings Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) and IDEA federal regulations Collaborate with families, staff, and district personnel to support student progress and resource needs Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with state and federal mandates Support social-emotional development and address challenges faced by students in an urban district environment Qualifications & Desired Experience: Valid Michigan Teacher Certificate with Learning Disabilities endorsement required; preference for additional endorsements in Emotional Impairment and Cognitively Impaired Experience working in urban school settings and familiarity with challenges faced by urban children and families Knowledge of MARSE guidelines and IDEA regulations related to special education Ability to manage a caseload effectively and engage students across multiple grade levels Comfortable and committed to working onsite for the entire contract duration Work Schedule: 35 hours per week, full-time availability required Interviews conducted remotely Interested candidates with the appropriate certification and enthusiasm to support diverse learners are encouraged to apply for these rewarding positions starting in January 2026.
