Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time Special Education teacher position is available for the 2025-2026 school year in a K-12 urban school setting in Saginaw, MI. The role primarily involves supporting self-contained classrooms with a maximum caseload of 22 students. Teaching assignments may range from Early Learning (pre-K and up) through grade 12. Key Qualifications and Experience: Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with endorsements in Emotional Impairment (EI) and Cognitively Impaired (CI) preferred Learning Disabilities (LD) endorsement acceptable for Resource Room positions Familiarity with urban education challenges and ability to support diverse student populations Knowledge of Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) and IDEA Federal Regulations Experience managing a caseload within self-contained or resource room settings Strong organizational and communication skills Full-time availability (35 hours per week) Primary Responsibilities: Develop and deliver individualized instruction in self-contained special education classrooms or resource rooms Manage a caseload of up to 22 students, adapting lesson plans to meet diverse learning needs Collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams to support student progress Utilize knowledge of MARSE and IDEA regulations to maintain compliant educational practices Employ evidence-based strategies tailored to emotional impairment, cognitive impairments, or learning disabilities Contribute positively to the school culture in an urban district environment Location and Work Environment: Onsite position based in Saginaw, MI Supports urban student population with diverse learning challenges Contract duration: approximately January 26, 2026, through June 12, 2026 Interviews conducted remotely This opportunity calls for educators who are adept at addressing the unique needs of urban children and are dedicated to fostering meaningful educational growth.
