This role offers an opportunity to serve diverse student needs within K-12 special education settings, supporting learners with autism, multiple needs, and transition-age students. Location: Chicago, IL (Contract position for the current school year) Responsibilities: Deliver specialized instruction in STAR-based classrooms for elementary and middle school students with autism. Support high school students with severe and profound disabilities in a Multi-Needs classroom, collaborating with staff to enhance engagement. Provide instruction and life skills support to young adults in the CONNECT 18-22 Transition Programs. Adapt teaching strategies to individual student profiles, fostering inclusive learning environments. Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Maintain accurate records and communicate progress regularly. Qualifications: Valid Illinois State Board of Education Professional Educator License (ISBE PEL) in Special Education required. Experience working with students with autism and multiple disabilities preferred. Strong understanding of individualized instructional methods and transition planning. Ability to engage students with severe disabilities in meaningful learning. Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams.
