Located in Henderson, NC, this contract opportunity offers a part-time role supporting young learners in an elementary school setting. The position focuses on providing specialized instruction to K-2 students with moderate to severe autism within a small caseload of 7-8 children. The classroom environment includes one lead teacher and two teaching assistants, emphasizing a collaborative and supportive approach. Key responsibilities include: Delivering tailored special education services to a diverse group of verbal and nonverbal students, most of whom are potty trained. Designing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) that address the unique needs of each student. Collaborating with teaching assistants to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment. Monitoring student progress and adapting teaching strategies to foster development and growth. Maintaining accurate documentation and communication with families and support staff. Qualifications desired: Valid Early Childhood (EC) license with credentials covering Birth to Kindergarten. Confidence and enthusiasm for working with children on the autism spectrum, particularly those with moderate to severe needs. Experience with implementing specialized instructional techniques for verbal and nonverbal students. Ability to work onsite consistently, Monday through Friday, providing 4-6 hours of daily instruction.
