A full-time Special Education Teacher opportunity is available for the 2025-2026 school year in the Grand Blanc, MI area, serving K-12 students in an urban district setting. This contract position starts approximately January 26, 2026, and concludes June 12, 2026. The role primarily involves self-contained classrooms with caseloads of up to 22 students, although caseloads may also include Early Learning through K-12 populations. Key Responsibilities: Deliver individualized instruction and support to students with special needs in resource room or self-contained classroom settings Develop and implement IEPs aligned with Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) and IDEA federal regulations Collaborate with families, staff, and related service providers to create inclusive learning environments Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to meet diverse learner requirements within an urban district framework Utilize resources appropriate to the challenges faced by urban children and their families Qualifications and Experience: Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with endorsements in Learning Disabilities, Emotional Impairment (EI), Cognitively Impaired (CI), or Early Childhood Special Education (MDE endorsement ZA) preferred Prior experience working with urban student populations and understanding of their unique educational challenges Strong knowledge of MARSE and IDEA federal regulations as they apply to special education Ability to manage caseloads of up to 22 students, including early childhood through grade 12 Full-time availability (35 hours per week); remote interviews will be conducted Location: Onsite positions available in the Grand Blanc, Lansing, and Detroit areas; candidates must be comfortable working on-site in urban districts Benefits: Opportunity to make a significant impact in diverse urban school settings Professional growth working with a committed educational community Supportive contract arrangement for the 2025-2026 school year Qualified candidates with the appropriate certifications and experience are encouraged to apply for this impactful role supporting students with special needs.
