This position seeks a licensed Special Education Teacher to provide dedicated instruction in English Language Arts at the high school level, focusing on students requiring specialized educational support. Located in Cicero, IL, this full-time contract role offers a 37.5-hour workweek for the current school year. Responsibilities include: Delivering individualized and group instruction in ELA aligned with state standards and individualized education programs (IEPs). Designing and adapting curriculum to meet diverse learning needs of high school students with disabilities. Collaborating with general education teachers, support staff, and families to support student progress. Monitoring and documenting student growth, attendance, and behavior according to school policies. Participating in IEP meetings and contributing to student evaluations and progress reporting. Qualifications and desired experience: Valid teaching license specifically in Special Education. Experience teaching English Language Arts at the high school level. Strong knowledge of special education laws, instructional strategies, and assessment techniques. Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles and needs. Effective communication and collaboration skills with students, parents, and staff.
