Annual Bonus Role Overview

A

well-established litigation firm in Fort Lauderdale

is seeking an

experienced Legal Assistant / Paralegal

to primarily support a senior litigator, with some additional support for other litigators as needed. This is

not an entry-level role . The ideal candidate brings meaningful prior litigation experience and can contribute immediately without requiring extensive training from scratch. This is a

substantive, litigation-focused position

supporting a practice that is heavily

contract-oriented

and

document-intensive . The work involves significant discovery and drafting responsibilities. Paralegals in this practice are treated as true litigation partners and are expected to operate at a high level—often functioning as “unlicensed lawyers.” While the role is primarily litigation-focused, it also touches on

transactional matters , including

M&A and real estate transactions . Practice Mix

Business litigation Construction litigation

(~20% of the practice) M&A and real estate transactions Key Responsibilities

Draft and assist with

motions, pleadings, discovery requests, and discovery responses Manage

discovery-heavy and document-intensive cases Prepare thoughtful, case-specific discovery ( no canned interrogatories ) Coordinate and calendar

depositions, hearings, mediations, and deadlines Maintain strong follow-up on case activity and deadlines Assist with trial preparation and litigation support Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, vendors, and court personnel Maintain organized electronic and physical case files Systems & Tools

for billing and timekeeping Ideal Candidate Profile

Significant

prior litigation experience

as a paralegal or legal assistant Strong drafting skills and comfort handling substantive legal work Experience with discovery and complex civil litigation Detail-oriented, proactive, and highly organized Preference for candidates with a

stable work history Schedule & Compensation

In-office for approximately the first 6 months

to allow for onboarding and integration Transitional to a

hybrid schedule (2 days remote per week)

thereafter Base salary approximately $90,000 , depending on experience Bonus eligibility
