The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing, analyzing, and maintaining accurate financial records in compliance with company policies, internal controls, and applicable gaming regulations. This position supports general ledger reconciliations, month‑end close, and financial reporting to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely completion of accounting deliverables.
Essential Job Functions/Duties
Gather and examine source information to verify balance sheets and reconcile all accounts, producing monthly summary statements with supporting documentation.
Provide managers with data and explanations to support understanding of departmental financial performance.
Review, analyze, and adjust financial statements of departments to ensure their accuracy.
Assist managers in the interpretation of departmental financial statements to promote understanding of the financial statements.
Prepare journal entries and adjust exceptional case entries to ensure the most appropriate representation of data on the general ledger to provide accurate and timely financial reporting.
Assist with daily and month‑end journal entries of revenue to ensure accuracy and timeliness of information.
Prepare cash flows reflecting daily activity with bank accounts, and be responsible for monthly bank reconciliations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications
Must be 21 years of age or older.
One or more years of applicable experience; high school or GED preferred, or a combination of experience and education.
Prior gaming industry experience preferred.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software and automated financial systems.
Knowledge of gaming and tax regulations preferred.
Certification Requirements
