Technical Resource Manager The Technical Resource Manager is responsible for the daily oversight of installation and commissioning operations within the internal team, ensuring projects are delivered according to proposal specifications and design. This role serves as the primary point of contact for installation questions and the key decision‑maker for the local installation and field engineering group. In addition to internal team management, the Manager plays a vital role in quality assurance by conducting inspections with our internal teams as well as our subcontractor partners. This position requires a hands‑on leader dedicated to training, troubleshooting, process improvement, safety compliance, and fostering a positive culture within the department.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of team management for installation, fabrication, field engineering and other technical team members, including hiring, retention strategies and employee development.

Administer corrective actions, including progressive discipline and termination when necessary.

Conduct quarterly performance reviews to evaluate competencies and identify areas for improvement.

Function as a mentor and trainer to the team, supporting professional growth and technical proficiency.

Manage administrative functions including weekly approval of timesheets, monthly expense reports and PTO requests.

Evaluate incoming projects to ensure all components meet company standards and assign projects to appropriate installation teams.

Audit installation and technician hours to manage overall team utilization effectively.

Ensure field teams have the necessary materials and job‑site conditions to successfully perform their duties.

Address and assist install teams and field engineers when on‑site issues arise, providing troubleshooting and technical guidance.

Ensure all equipment is installed on customer sites in accordance with proposal specifications and design documents.

Verify and enforce the Bluum Master Subcontractor Agreement, including Bluum Quality Standards and the Bluum Installation Standards manual.

Perform quarterly quality control inspections for local subcontractor partners to ensure alignment with company standards.

Vet and onboard potential new subcontractor partners as needed, verifying compliance with licensing and other administrative requirements.

Manage safety protocols and ensure team members are working safely on job sites.

Conduct and document mandatory safety meetings with at least a monthly cadence.

Support Project Delivery and Administration teams by serving as a conduit to field teams and answering technical questions.

Clearly and concisely elevate installation concerns to the project management team and leadership.

Stock and maintain all installation vans with the necessary tools to complete installations.

Maintain and upkeep all installation fleet vehicles.

Required Education & Experience

Secondary diploma required.

Minimum two (2) years of experience in a supervisory role.

Minimum five (5) years of direct experience in audio‑visual installation.

Minimum five (5) years installing A/V equipment and terminating cables.

Possession of a Low Voltage License (PLT or similar) preferred.

CTS certification required (CTS‑I or CTS‑D preferred). Candidates will be expected to obtain CTS certification within six months of hire.

OSHA 30 certification preferred; expected to be obtained within three months of hire.

Technical Knowledge & Skills

Comprehensive understanding of audio/video systems, including projection, production, switching, distribution, distributed audio, pro‑audio, videoconferencing, integrated control systems and mounting methods.

Ability to handle a wide variety of projects, including complex programming and configuration.

Strong technical proficiency, including interpretation of drawings, signal‑flow analysis and technical guidance.

Ability to read and mark‑up blueprints of installation projects.

Leadership & Professional Competencies

Excellent organizational skills with exceptional time‑management and prioritization abilities to manage multiple installations and timelines simultaneously.

Expertise working with diverse personalities and team dynamics to foster a collaborative environment.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to write clear, timely emails, reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the public.

Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision, demonstrating expertise in handling escalating situations calmly and professionally.

Advanced analytical skills with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions from abstract and concrete variables.

Travel Frequent local, regional and national travel is expected for this position.

Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The employee may occasionally be at risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Specific job duties that are affected by the environmental conditions are reading, writing, phone conversations and equipment repair. A desk will be available for necessary administrative updates; however, this role is designed to be largely performed in the field rather than in an office setting.

Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to sit, walk, talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to lift between 30 to 50 pounds. Duties may involve the safe use of ladders and aerial lifts to reach elevated installation or inspection points. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision. Close vision for computer uses, reading/writing and technical repair.
