Role Overview
Senior
RAN Wireless Subject Matter Expert
supporting customer-facing engineering, pre-sales, and new product introductions for
4G/5G networks
Role blends
deep technical expertise , customer engagement, and cross-functional coordination with HQ and regional teams
Key Responsibilities
Translate
customer requirements
into system and feature requirements for development teams
Lead
product & feature performance analysis
and evaluate new HW/SW releases
Perform
deep-dive analysis of 4G/5G call protocols , including chipset IODT issues from lab and field
Support
virtualized network technologies
and new product introductions
Act as technical lead in
pre-sales , delivering compelling technical and commercial solutions
Bridge communication between
sales teams and carrier network teams
Educate customers on
RAN products and services
Support and, when needed, lead
lab and field trials
Collaborate with logistics, support teams, regional teams, and HQ for successful rollouts
Travel sporadically as project needs require
Success Criteria
Technical Acumen:
Recognized SME driving solutions through complex customer environments
Presentation & Communication:
Ability to explain complex RAN topics to executives, engineers, and HQ partners
Ambiguity Handling:
Proven problem-solving skills in dynamic, evolving environments
Required Background & Skills
12+ years
experience in wireless telecommunications
Bachelor’s in
EE/CS
(advanced degree preferred)
Strong expertise in
4G/5G RAN architecture , air interface, and call processing
Deep understanding of
PHY, MAC, RLC, RRC, PDCP layers
Knowledge of
5G technologies : Massive MIMO, Hybrid Beamforming, Numerologies, LTE–NR interworking
Familiarity with
3GPP Rel-15/16
Experience with
system engineering : requirements, optimization, performance analysis, testing, troubleshooting
Hands-on with tools:
XCAL, QXDM, Wireshark, Channel Emulator
Understanding of
Core + RAN networks
SW development and HW/SW architecture knowledge is a plus
