Job Description The registered professional nurse is responsible for utilizing job skills to effectively carry out the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, evaluation, documentation, and time management. The nurse maintains quality communication, teamwork, and professionalism, and directs, coordinates, and implements patient teaching, quality/safety initiatives, and activities of other health team personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards.

Qualifications
Meets all requirements of an RN II.
Competent to provide case-based care using the nursing process.
Competent to provide care across cognitive, physical, emotional, and developmental stages.
Must have reliable phone communication with the hospital.
Education
Bachelors Nursing (BSN) required
Masters Nursing (MSN) preferred
Experience Minimum of 5,616 hours of RN experience.
Certification & Licensures
RN License required*
BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) – American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) – AHA approved required**
Relevant Specialty Certification preferred
Additional Certification/Licensure Requirements
Must be licensed or eligible to practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia under current Virginia Board of Nursing Regulations (multi‑state or single‑state).
New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) certification prior to completion of orientation.
