Eye Care for Animals – Chicago is looking for a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community. The position supports both a strong local community feel and the national resources of Thrive. Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive care throughout pets’ lives, including outpatient treatments and laboratory tests. Assist in surgery, monitoring anesthesia and working with monitoring equipment. Support services such as admitting and discharging patients. Create and present financial options and estimates to clients. Accurately enter service charges into the client processing database. Qualifications
Previous veterinary technician/assistant experience required. CVT preferred, but not required; CVT eligible. Proficient in IV catheter placement, blood work, and IV, IM, and SQ injections. Proficient in surgery monitoring anesthesia and equipment. Team player, eager to learn, self‑motivated, enjoys fast‑paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient computer skills (email, uploading/downloading files, typing, etc.). Benefits
