Position Summary Under minimal supervision, provide nursing care for a group of patients assigned to the nurse, matching patients’ needs with the nurse’s competencies. Complete established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Education Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Preferred Education Bachelor’s Degree.
Minimum Experience None.
Preferred Experience Two years in acute care.
Required Certifications/Licensure Possession of a current Texas State License for Registered Nurse.
Certification Requirements – Adult ED
Active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
AHA ACLS completed within 60 days of hire or upon transfer to the role (should be completed before the end of the orientation period).
AHA PALS completed within 60 days of hire or upon transfer to the role (should be completed before the end of the orientation period).
TNCC within 1 year of hire or transfer date into unit.
Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer.
ENPC preferred.
Certification Requirements – Pediatric ED
Active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
AHA PALS completed within 60 days of hire or upon transfer to the role (should be completed before the end of the orientation period).
TNCC within 1 year of hire or transfer date into unit.
Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer.
ENPC within 18 months of hire or transfer.
