Overview
This position is responsible for scheduling patient appointments across several departments and hospitals/clinics for clinical diagnostic or therapeutic exams. It requires collecting accurate demographic, insurance and diagnostic data and a broad knowledge of scheduling, registration and payer requirements to secure payment. Responsibilities
Obtain necessary demographic data and enter it into the scheduling system. Create a pre‑registration for each visit, capturing insurance and financial information. Verify insurance online or by contacting payers, confirming eligibility, coverage limits and effective dates. Collaborate with physician offices to secure authorization, pre‑certification or notification when required. Perform scanning of orders into the EPIC System for upcoming encounters and provide preparation instructions. Work with staff and management to achieve defined scheduling/authorization weekly metrics. Other duties as assigned. Other Duties And Responsibilities

High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree in healthcare or related field preferred. One year medical office experience in a medical center or similar setting required. Proficiencies: Microsoft® Windows, Excel, Word, internet; phone, listening, interpersonal skills. Ability to work well in a team, cover coworker duties, participate in department teams and suggest workflow improvements. Physical/Mental Requirements And Typical Working Conditions
Exposure to stressful situations, public contact, trauma, grief, death. Must wear personal protective equipment with latex or substitutes. Must move freely within facility, perform job functions; vision and hearing necessary. May sit, stand, walk for long periods; frequent postural changes, handle bodily fluid exposure. Physical demand: Sedentary; occasionally lift up to 10 lbs. Seniority level
