POSITION SUMMARY Under minimal supervision, provides professional nursing care for patients ranging in age from newborn to geriatric, within the nurse’s competencies following established standards and practices. Supports the mission statement, policies and procedures of the Baptist Health System. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education: Graduate of accredited school of nursing
Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum Experience: None
Preferred Experience: Completion of peri‑anesthesia or critical care internship/training course
Required Certifications/License: Possession of current Texas State License for Registered Nurse or currently eligible for state board certification.
Preferred Certifications/License: Surgery – CNOR Board eligible/certified
Preferred Certifications/License: Post Anesthesia – CPAN Board eligible/certified
Preferred Certifications/License: GI Lab – SGNA Board eligible/certified
Required Course: BLS – Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
Required Course: AHA ACLS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role for all Surgical Services areas.
Required Course: AHA PALS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role for Post Anesthesia Care Unit for licensed staff that care for Pedi. This includes the following facilities: North Central Baptist, St. Lukes Baptist, Westover Hills Baptist and Resolute Baptist Hospital.
