Job Overview The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) invites you to apply to this position that provides customer service to the citizens of Maryland every day. The MTA is one of the largest transit systems in the United States and is seeking dynamic and energetic individuals to join the MTA team.

The MTA is recruiting for an A Repairman - Electro/Mechanic. The A-Repairman-Electro-Mechanic must be qualified to perform the Building Maintenance functions associated with the jobs of electrician, plumber, carpenter, painter, sewer repairman, gardener, mason or others as may be required, operating and maintaining heating plants and other related equipment; and being qualified to inspect, replace, repair, maintain, diagnose and correct conditions and perform other jobs of a similar nature as may be required, with the aid of minimal supervision.

This position is located in Baltimore City.

Responsibilities

Perform building maintenance functions associated with electrician, plumber, carpenter, painter, sewer repairman, gardener, mason or other needed tasks.

Operate and maintain heating plants and other related equipment.

Inspect, replace, repair, maintain, diagnose and correct maintenance conditions.

Perform other jobs of similar nature with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

High school graduation or equivalency.

Five (5) years of experience in electronics, electricity, mechanics and/or electro‑mechanical maintenance. Computer skills highly desirable.

Substitution: U.S. Armed Forces military service experience involving staff work related to administration of rules, regulations, policies, procedures, or unit operations, or staff assistant role may substitute for required education and experience on a year‑for‑year basis.

Licenses & Certifications

Valid CDL license to operate a motor vehicle in the State of Maryland.
