Nonwovens Process Engineer Nonwovens Process Engineer responsible for developing and optimizing nonwoven manufacturing processes, applying DOE/SPC analytics, and supporting safe, reliable production and product quality.
Job Requirements
BS in Materials Science, Textile Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field
1+ year of process engineering experience (nonwoven, fiber, textile, or related manufacturing preferred)
Experience with DOE, SPC, root-cause analysis, and data‑driven problem solving
Experience with data analysis tools (Minitab, JMP, Python, or similar)
Knowledge of mass and heat balance, fluid flow, tension control, and web handling
Understanding of ISO 9001, documentation practices, and change control
Ability to wear required PPE
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, climb, crawl, reach, and grasp as required
Ability to travel as required
Preferred Skills
Specialization in nonwovens or textiles
Hands‑on experience with industrial nonwoven processes (needling, bonding, laminating, slitting, winding, coating)
Experience supporting process development, scale‑up, and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment
Experience collaborating with customers on product performance requirements and technical feedback
Job Responsibilities
Support safe, reliable, and efficient nonwoven manufacturing operations
Optimize process parameters to achieve consistent product quality and throughput targets
Provide technical expertise for process development, trials, scale‑up, and manufacturing method improvements
Troubleshoot process and product issues using DOE, SPC, and root‑cause analysis methodologies
Collect, analyze, and report process and quality data using statistical and programming tools
Support tension control and web handling performance across converting and finishing operations
Maintain ISO 9001‑aligned documentation, including change control and process records
Coordinate cross‑functionally with R&D, Quality, Production, and customers to translate requirements into process capability
Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in nonwoven mat technologies and manufacturing methods
