Overview
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides comprehensive primary care in a community health setting under medical director supervision.
Responsibilities
Perform health assessments, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic conditions with a focus on underserved populations.
Collaborate with healthcare team members and refer complex cases to physicians as needed.
Provide health education, counseling, and perform minor procedures, emphasizing culturally sensitive care.
Supervise staff, participate in protocol development, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
Complete documentation and maintain ongoing education to ensure quality services.
Qualifications
Current Iowa NP licensure.
Board certification in family or primary care.
Bilingual skills preferred.
Experience with low‑income populations.
Physical Demands Mobility, visual and hearing abilities, and capacity to transfer patients. The work environment is typically low to moderate noise with exposure to health hazards.
