100% onsite at Corning, NY (Local candidates only)

Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM
Only W2 candidates are eligible for this position. Third-party or C2C candidates will not be considered
5 years of experience in a lab environment executing experiments. Clear and solid understanding of how to apply the scientific method. Hands‑on experience with laser systems and mechanical troubleshooting. Mechanical troubleshooting and understanding of engineering principles is critical.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive the design, development, and continuous improvement of laser‑based processes and systems.
Execute experimental plans, collect data, and document experimental settings and results.
Interact with internal customers to understand incoming laser processing requests and ensure timely delivery of sample parts.
Support laser system maintenance, including assembly, installation, debugging, and start‑up of new laser setups.
Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date process and safety documentation.
Ensure lab cleanliness, safety, and organization while managing inventory levels and ordering supplies as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of experience
Basic understanding and application of standard engineering or scientific theories, concepts, principles, and techniques.
Proven ability to meet project deadlines and deliver technical solutions.
Hands‑on experience with laser systems and mechanical troubleshooting.
Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
Strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to ask questions, make recommendations, and raise concerns.
Excellent collaboration skills, fostering a positive and team‑oriented work environment.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and a willingness to perform various tasks as needed.
Professional and regular communication with technicians, scientists, internal customers, department management, and suppliers.
Commitment to safety, including experience leading safety upgrades and conducting risk assessments in a lab environment.
Strong organizational and documentation skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Teams.
Education: Associates preferred, but not required
Interview Process: On‑site panel interview with the manager and 2‑3 others
