The Fountain Group is currently seeking an Optical Technician for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in Corning, NY. Details for the position are as follows:
Pay Range: $35 – $47/hr depending on experience. Contract: 10½ months with possible extension and/or conversion. 100% onsite in Corning, NY. Job Description:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive the design, development, and continuous improvement of laser-based processes and systems.
Execute experimental plans, collect data, and document experimental settings and results.
Interact with internal customers to understand incoming laser processing requests and ensure timely delivery of sample parts.
Support laser system maintenance, including assembly, installation, debugging, and start-up of new laser setups.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date process and safety documentation.
Ensure lab cleanliness, safety, and organization while managing inventory levels and ordering supplies as needed.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma / GED with 5+ years of experience in a lab environment executing experiments.
Hands‑on experience with laser systems and mechanical troubleshooting. Mechanical troubleshooting and understanding of engineering principles is critical.
