$2,500 Sign-On Bonus
Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience. Starting hourly rate between $21–$23/hr. 40‑hour workweek with 30–40 hours, including day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts (one weekend shift required).
Overview Join the Thrive Pet Healthcare network, a community of 400 clinics. In partnership with Companion Animal Hospital, you’ll work in a supportive, small clinic feel while accessing a vast network of resources. Your role will involve assisting veterinarians and providing direct patient care.
Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians during procedures such as restraint, radiology, emergency, surgical, and dental.
Provide nursing care, patient monitoring, and client education.
Collect laboratory samples and perform required tests.
Administer and refill prescription medications.
Maintain treatment rooms and equipment, ensuring supplies are available.
Keep accurate medical records and demonstrate professional behavior.
Communicate with clients face‑to‑face, by telephone, or email.
Mentor and support fellow team members as needed.
Job Requirements
Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology.
Valid New York State Veterinary Technology license (or ability to transfer license).
Licensed or in a process to obtain a veterinary technician license.
Professional, upbeat demeanor that promotes a positive workplace.
Dependable, reliable, and detail‑oriented.
Prior veterinary experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
Lift heavy pets and objects up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable handling large animals.
Stamina for long periods of standing, bending, squatting, and reaching.
