Required Education: ADN

Required Experience: No experience required.

Required License / Certification: Active Kentucky Registered Nurse (RN) license, Temporary Work Permit (TWP), Provisional License or active compact state RN license in good standing and AHA Basic Life Support certification valid for at least 6 months after employment date.

Physical Requirements The essential functions include the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50‑100 pounds on a daily basis and 25‑50 pounds frequently; stand, walk, and sit for long periods; exposure to communicable diseases, radiation hazards, and injury from intractable patients or sharp instruments.

Shift and Schedule Must work three 12‑hour day shifts per week (7:00 AM‑7:30 PM), totaling 36 hrs per week, and also work some weekends and holidays.

Job Summary Primary responsibilities include providing total, comprehensive, continuous and patient‑centered care. Tasks: assess, document, plan, implement, teach, develop, and evaluate a comprehensive nursing plan of care; deliver direct patient care; ensure patient satisfaction; train and delegate duties for nursing care technicians; adhere to university policies and regulations; collaborate with nursing staff and physicians to enhance patient outcomes.

Knowledge of Maslow’s eight basic human needs, Gordon’s functional health patterns framework, and Swanson’s caring model.

Strong direct patient care and critical thinking skills.

Basic computer navigation and internet knowledge.

Professional and respectful communication with patients, families, coworkers, and physicians.

Strong organizational, prioritization, and delegation skills.

Team‑oriented and independent work ability; proactive, confident, and open communication.

Supervisory responsibilities: None.

Preferred Education: BSN + at least 1 year of RN experience.
