Sr. Aerospace Engineer Description of specific duties in a typical workday for this position:

The Sr. Aerospace Engineer provides engineering support for aerospace systems and subsystems in support of DoD aviation and training programs. The engineer supports the analysis, design, integration, testing, validation, airworthiness, and sustainment of aircraft, aviation subsystems, and associated Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and Simulations (TADSS).

Responsibilities include supporting development and review of aerospace system requirements, specifications, and technical architectures; conducting performance, safety, and airworthiness analyses; supporting test planning, execution, and evaluation activities; and assisting with Government Acceptance Testing (GAT) and On-Site Acceptance Testing (OSAT). The Aerospace Engineer participates in reviews of design baselines, drawings, and technical data packages and supports configuration management and change control activities.

The role supports analysis of flight performance, aerodynamics, structures, propulsion, avionics integration, and environmental factors as applicable. The Aerospace Engineer assists in development and review of technical documentation, engineering assessments, and reports; supports preparation and evaluation of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Value Engineering Proposals (VEPs); and participates in hardware and software quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with DoD, Army, and airworthiness requirements.

Requirements (Years of experience, Education, Certifications):

Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering or a closely related engineering discipline (Mechanical, Aeronautical, Systems Engineering)

10 years of experience performing aerospace or aviation engineering in support of military, DoD, or aviation programs

Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas:

Aircraft systems engineering and integration

Aerodynamics, flight performance, or propulsion analysis

Airworthiness and safety assessments

Aerospace testing, validation, and acceptance support

Review of technical drawings, specifications, and data packages

Configuration management and engineering change support

Active Secret Clearance required

Nice to Have (skills that are not required, but nice to have):

Experience supporting Army aviation platforms (e.g., UH-60, AH-64, CH-47, Huey II)

Familiarity with:

DoD 5000 series and Defense Acquisition Guidebook

Airworthiness release processes

Aviation standards and military specifications

Certifications or training in:

Systems Engineering (INCOSE)

Six Sigma / Lean

Test & Evaluation or airworthiness disciplines

Master's degree in aerospace engineering or a related discipline
