Entry‑Level Utility Technician – Essential Services Provider
Pay:
$18/hr
A local water company here in Pensacola is looking for a candidate for a Utility Technician position to add to their team! This is a great opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in the utilities industry with plenty of room for growth. If you enjoy working outdoors, solving problems, and being part of a team that keeps the community running, this role is for you!
Key Responsibilities Maintenance & Repair:
Locate and repair leaks in water and sewer lines.
Replace damaged utility components like valves, fittings, and meters.
Clean and maintain utility infrastructure, including fire hydrants and lift stations.
Perform routine inspections of utility lines and equipment.
Assist with the installation of new utility lines and service connections.
Dig trenches and backfill excavations safely and efficiently.
Install and connect new water meters.
Emergency Response:
Respond to emergency calls for utility disruptions, including leaks or outages.
Isolate leaks and take quick action to minimize damage.
Additional Duties:
Read and record water meter data accurately.
Perform landscaping and maintenance on city properties.
Operate tools and equipment safely and effectively.
Requirements
Comfortable working long shifts outdoors in all weather conditions.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
MUST HAVE
a high school diploma or GED.
MUST HAVE
a Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and your
own
transportation.
MUST
be able to pass a
Level 2
Background Check.
Must comply with the company’s
Drug‑Free Workplace Policy .
Medical marijuana
cards are not accepted; all employees must pass required drug screenings.
