Job Summary The Pastor to Young Adults is responsible for shepherding, developing, and leading the young adult and young married ministries at Rivertree Church’s Downtown Campus. This role exists to help young adults become deeply formed disciples of Jesus through worship, community, teaching, and intentional life-on-life discipleship. In this, they will contribute to Rivertree’s mission to help one another know Jesus by sharing the gospel and our lives.

Job Qualifications

A growing and evident relationship with Jesus Christ

A clear calling to pastoral ministry, particularly among young adults

Agreement with Rivertree Church’s statement of faith, mission, and values

Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and relational skills

Ability to teach Scripture clearly and pastorally to young adults

Experience leading or serving in young adult or discipleship ministry preferred

Strong ability to recruit, equip, and develop volunteer leaders

Bachelor’s degree required; theological training or seminary education preferred

Job Responsibilities

Provide pastoral leadership and oversight for Rivertree’s Young Adult and Young Married ministries at the Downtown Campus

Shepherd young adults through teaching, presence, pastoral care, and relational discipleship

Lead Young Adult Core Team toward developing ministry vision, strategy, and execution

Work to actively bring new Young Adults into ministry as well as assimilate into church life

Fireside Chat & Gatherings:

Organize, plan, and execute monthly Young Adult worship gatherings known as Fireside Chats

Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteer leaders and teams for Fireside Chats

Work alongside worship, tech, and teaching teams to ensure gatherings are spiritually meaningful and well‑executed

Plan and execute other gatherings that are beneficial to the ministry

Groups & Discipleship:

Oversee Young Adult Life Groups and Young Married Life Groups

Work closely with the Downtown Discipleship Pastor to align groups with Rivertree’s overall discipleship strategy

Oversee and develop other pathways for spiritual growth for young adults, including Discipleship Groups, Bible Studies, etc.

Recruit, train, support, and care for group leaders, ensuring healthy and multiplying groups

Premarital & Marriage Ministry Development:

Help develop and strengthen Rivertree’s premarital counseling process

Work with church leadership to identify, equip, and support marriage mentors within the church body

Assist in training mentors to walk alongside engaged and newly married couples

Walk with young couples through the process of dating, engagement, and marriage in coordination with other pastoral leaders

Leadership & Church Integration:

Collaborate with pastors and ministry leaders to ensure alignment with Rivertree’s mission and vision

Participate in staff meetings, ministry planning, and strategic discussions

Assist ministry teams with planning, budgeting, and volunteer development related to young adult ministry

Effectively manage budget categories associated with leadership role

Pastoral Care & Church Life:

Actively engage in pastoral care for young adults, including counseling, hospital visits, and crisis care as needed

Guide young adults through the baptism process as needed

Participate in worship services, church-wide events, and special projects as assigned

Use personal spiritual gifts to further the mission of Rivertree Church and the Kingdom of Jesus

Other:

Take part in the life of the Church and grow strong Christ-centered relationships

Maintain healthy, balanced rhythms of work, rest, ministry, and family

Prioritize personal spiritual growth and vitality

Other duties as assigned

Job Summary: Worship and Communications Pastor Supervision This position will work under the direct supervision of the Senior Pastor.

The Worship and Communications Pastor will provide leadership for the Worship Ministry and Media Ministry, with the goal of leading the congregation to worship God and to make disciples who make disciples.

Personal Expectations

Live a lifestyle of worship fully devoted to the Lord (Romans 12:1-2) that is beyond reproach according to Biblical guidelines (I Timothy 3:1-8).

Affirm the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message.

Steward his family well by placing them as the first ministry priority.

Steward his finances well with a consistent practice of Biblical tithing (Malachi 3:10-11)

Steward his time well, understanding that compensation is based on a salary package (Determined by agreement between him and the church).

He must be a self-starter and willing to live by strong accountability.

Professional Expectations

Supervise the planning and leading of the weekly worship gatherings.

Provide spiritual and technical leadership for the Worship Team (includes vocalists and instrumentalists). He must also oversee all other Choir ministries.

The Worship and Communications Pastor will work alongside the Children’s Ministry Director in developing children as worshipers.

Work with the Student Ministry to ensure quality worship teams for the Wednesday evening student ministry.

Supervise all media production and equipment.

Supervise both website and radio ministries.

Supervise all media and music-related staff.

Provide leadership in preparing the annual church budget with direct oversight of the Worship Music and Worship Media budgets.

Share in pastor care responsibilities weekly (i.e., hospital, in-home, evangelism, funerals, and weddings).

Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.

Compensation Compensation is determined by the agreement of the Deacon board, church body, and Worship and Communications Pastor based on the current year’s budget.

Education Requirements

Preferred degree from a Baptist seminary (but not limited to).

3-5 years of experience leading worship.

The Campus Pastor The Campus Pastor will perform as the spiritual and organizational point person for the Campus. He will execute the strategy, values, and vision of the Lead Team of Pinelake Church within the context of the local congregation. He will act as shepherd for the congregation and oversee the staff. The pastor will ensure the vitality of community and discipleship connections.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Works in coordination with the overall goals and objectives of Pinelake Church.

Assists the Lead Team to work toward excellence in all areas of the ministry.

As a part of the overall Starkville staff team, participate in campus-wide ministry events and the shepherding of our Starkville faith family.

Basic personal responsibilities:

Maintain a vital and growing personal walk with the Lord through committed Bible study, prayer, meditation and practicing L3.

Maintains proper priorities in his home including his spouse and children (if married and/or with children).

Faithfully supports the ministries of Pinelake by maintaining wise stewardship measures over the resources entrusted to him.

Reflect a growing awareness and practice of personal Emotional Healthy Spirituality.

Maintain active participation in community.

Maintains active participation in an adult-group.

Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner to glorify Christ and further the mission and ministry purposes of Pinelake Church (Colossians 3:23-24).

Exemplifies and leads the staff in accordance with the Vision, Mission of Pinelake Church and the Staff Values.

Maintains a vital relationship and link with the Pinelake Church Leadership and the congregation.

Oversight and accountability of campus budget.

Stays abreast of all congregational trends; develops short term and long-term visions and strategies to address any current/potential issues and meet growth needs.

Identifies, plans, and executes local missions opportunities in coordination with Pinelake One Church Missions Team.

Upholds the Policies and Procedures of Pinelake Church.

Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and evaluating performance (with the support of the One Church Staff Team); rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; and administering vacation/paid time off, and other personnel procedures in conjunction with the Lead Pastor of Operations, the Director of Human Resources, and all personnel policies and procedures.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED The minimum requirements for the Campus Pastor is a Bachelor's degree, but an advanced degree is preferred (with seminary experience). Also, ten years ministry experience and key pastoral leadership are competitive attributes.
