We're committed to giving children back their childhood!**Job Posting Title:**Clinic Athletic Trainer**Location:**Frisco - Ambulatory Surgical Center**Additional Posting Details:**Monday - Friday8:00am - 4:30pm**Job Description:**# **Duties/Responsibilities*** Accurately and timely documents patient assessments, interventions, evaluates overall response of patient/family.* patient/family response to care, and revises the plan of care as needed, along with any patient/family education.* Assists with post-operative Physical Therapy protocols and research / standard of care questionnaires assignments based on patient/diagnosis.* Effectively assists in the prevention, assessment and treatment of sports related injury by providing brace fittings, functional assessments, home exercise programs, etc.* Coordinates outside therapy and other referrals for patient families as needed.* Enters orders and referrals as delegated by the provider or standing policy* Performs telephone triage assessment to manage a patient/parent/guardian call to determine the urgency of the medical issue, appropriate recommendation for care and intervention (with escalation to provider as appropriate), and timing of appointment scheduling, if needed.* Provides individualized patient/parent education utilizing input from the family* Communicates sport-specific education and limitations with athletic trainers, coaches, etc.* Takes responsibility for own professional development, asking questions to gain professional insight, enhance clinical skills and function as an effective part of the team.* Participates in educational events & serves as a preceptor for new staff* Accountable for meeting the standards of patient/personal safety and in maintaining a clean and therapeutic environment* Assists clinic staff with administrative needs* Maintains patient information and documentation in electronic medical record* Abides by organizational and HIPAA guidelines, privacy practices, patient confidentiality, and patient rights* Supports hospital and departmental performance improvement goals* Supports quality care through compliance with departmental and organizational policies and guidelines, and external agency guidelines, standards, or regulations* Supports departmental initiatives and change efforts* Practices financial and resource stewardship* Engages in strong communication, acts as team player in supporting mission and vision of organization, and abides by organization’s core values* Additional duties as assigned# **Required Skills/Abilities*** Bachelor’s degree in an athletic training program or related field required* National Athletic Trainer’s Association certification required* License in the state of Texas required* BLS required* Minimum 1-2 years of experience preferred #J-18808-Ljbffr
