Production Supervisor
Price Industries Inc. is seeking a Production Supervisor 2nd Shift for its growing US office and manufacturing facility located in Suwanee, Georgia. This position will report to the Value Stream Manager and will manage production activities within the department. The supervisor will be responsible for the overall performance of the manufacturing department, including production schedule, delivery performance, resource planning, allocation and utilization, quality and safety improvement.
Responsibilities
Improving the efficiency and utilization of the production department
Ensuring product quality and effective resolution of quality issues
Identifying problem root causes and implementing corrective and preventive measures
Utilizing functional support departments to resolve quality issues
Identifying and resolving safety concerns
Bringing multiple product lines together to meet the manufacturing plan for the week
Ensuring work instructions, procedures and policies are followed
Motivating department members through involvement, communication and positive reinforcement
Providing employees with feedback through formal and informal performance evaluations
Monitoring attendance and taking disciplinary steps as required, up to and including termination
Dealing with grievances and conflict in a calm, controlled and professional manner
Manpower planning and effective staffing, including operators and lead‑hands
Ensuring effective training and cross‑training
Mentoring and developing lead‑hands for hourly manufacturing operations
Driving continuous improvement within the department to achieve better quality, efficient productivity, and delivery performance
Driving force behind 5S
Using Lean Manufacturing and other techniques
Ensuring daily shop cleanup actions and required daily machine preventive maintenance actions are performed effectively
Qualifications
Work effectively in a multitasking environment and constructively under pressure
Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
Exceptional leadership skills with a sense of urgency and strong aptitude
Create accountability and lead by example
Make sound and timely decisions
Develop, maintain and motivate a strong team
Work with minimum supervision
Must be organized and detail oriented
Solve practical problems and difficult situations
Ability to pass a drug screen and background check
College degree or high school with at least 5 years of experience
3+ years of supervisory role with a proven track record in a high‑volume, multi‑product environment preferably in sheet metal and HVAC
Experience in Lean Manufacturing
Comfortable in a team‑oriented environment
Proficient in MS Office
Bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, extreme cold and dust. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
