Job Summary The Patient Care Technician (PCT) is a member of the multi‑disciplinary treatment team that provides direct care to behavioral health patients working under the medical direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) in person or telephonically. The primary focus is direct patient care as directed and delegated by the RN, Lead PCT, Operation Supervisor, Operations Administrator, or Program Manager. The PCT is also responsible for the safety of the unit they are assigned to, identifying environmental and patient‑specific safety concerns, and elevating those concerns to the RN, RN Manager, Operations Supervisor, or designee as needed.
Skills / Requirements
High school diploma or GED and either 18 credit hours of post‑high‑school education in a field related to behavioral health and two years of full‑time behavioral health work experience; or
Four years of full‑time behavioral health work experience; or
Associate’s degree and at least two years of full‑time behavioral health work experience; or
Bachelor’s degree in a field other than behavioral health and at least one year of full‑time behavioral health work experience; or
Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree in a field related to behavioral health; or
Minimum of six months of recovery from substance use and/or mental health disorders (preferred).
