Job Summary:

Provides quality, technically relevant instruction in the assigned program following departmental guidelines, policies, procedures and relevant regulations.

Responsibilities

Provide quality and technically relevant instruction of course curriculum.

Teach students learning strategies.

Conduct teaching and instructional activities using educational equipment, manipulatives, props and other learning aids.

Provide continual feedback and assessment, ensuring student mastery of learning outcomes as addressed in the program addendum.

Assess and record grading for all homework assignments, quizzes and tests.

Complete paperwork associated with classroom and project management.

Participate in marketing of courses to prospective students by providing technical information during biannual Open House events.

Assist with course and/or program evaluation and continuous improvement and resolve quiz disputes when necessary.

Maintain acceptable program quality and satisfaction scores.

Keep Program Manager informed of any curriculum or student code of conduct issues.

Record attendance in learning management system.

Required Qualifications

Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher education.

Five (5) years of experience working in a professional kitchen.

ServSafe certification.

Preferred Qualifications

Expert knowledge of current trends and developments in the industry.

Maintain ServSafe Certification.

Abilities & Skills

Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time and meet deadlines.

Able to motivate students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational process.

Able to review syllabus and learning outcomes on the first night of class.

Able to provide sufficient time for students to complete course evaluations.

Able not to release class early or leave class unattended.

Able to respond to student inquiries in a timely manner.

Knowledgeable of all emergency procedures posted in the classroom.

Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem‑solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills.

Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (e.g., Microsoft Office suite).

Strong attention to detail and follow‑up skills.

Strong customer service skills and phone and e‑mail etiquette.
