Essential Job Functions
Surveils patrons in the swimming pool facility
Recognizes emergencies and responds quickly and effectively
Enforces all swimming pool facility policies, rules, and regulations
Performs opening and closing duties, including equipment set up, restroom cleaning, trash duties, and pool vacuuming
Assists patrons in a friendly manner without compromising surveillance duties
Inspects the swimming pool facility daily and reports any unsafe conditions or equipment to the Swimming Pool Manager
Completes records and reports in a professional manner
Participates in regular in‑service training
Performs other related duties as assigned
Minimum Education And Experience
At least 16 years of age
Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification (or equivalent)
Current American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer certification (or equivalent)
Valid driver’s license issued by the State of Oklahoma for the type of vehicle or equipment operated
Physical Requirements The work is typically performed while intermittently sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, or stooping. The employee may climb a ladder, negotiate steps and stairs, talk and hear. The employee will occasionally lift, pull, push or move items weighing up to 25 pounds. The work is typically performed outdoors and may involve exposure to loud noise, hazardous pool chemicals and extreme weather conditions.
Drug and Background Screening This position is considered “safety‑sensitive” and is subject to random drug testing under City policies.
