Leading consumer services company is looking for a high potential staff accountant to join the team. This position is onsite in Irvine (by the John Wayne airport) and reports to the Accounting Manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Responsible for the preparation of General Ledger journal entries for the month-end close and to close the books in a timely manner.
Understand, analyze and complete balance sheet reconciliations, including explaining and reclassifying variances.
Analyze and explain/reclassify variances in financial statements.
Assist in the inventory accounting area by reviewing and analyzing financial data associated with inventory transactions.
Responsible for accurate and timely accounting of company’s fixed assets and monthly reconciliation of the fixed asset.
Manage and review monthly depreciation calculation for both book and tax accounting.
Responsible for monitoring the status of CIP projects/assets.
Ensure that monthly cash is reconciled, and bank reconciliations are complete and matched to the General Ledger
Prepares and assists in the preparation of the monthly, quarterly, annual and other State or Federal report
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
BS/BA Degree in Accounting, or BS/BA in Business with emphasis in accounting
2+ years’ work experience in accounting public accounting/private industry with a strong understanding of GAAP
