Position Description Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Senior Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Forest Park, GA.

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Pay: $32.50 per hour

Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification obtained, up to $700

Quarterly Bonus: Up to $500 per quarter, four times per year

Sign‑On Bonus: $1,750 at 30 days and $1,750 at 90 days

Schedule: Sunday – Thursday

Hours: Second Shift 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)

Vocational or technical certification, post‑secondary degree or technical certifications (preferred)

Basic tools required

Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work), basic diagnostics and repairs (AC and electrical systems)

Three (3) years or more relevant work experience (preferred)

All other certification as required by location (required)

Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred)

Minimum 2 years experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy‑duty and medium‑duty equipment

Computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.

Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire

Must pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and background/motor‑vehicle check

Responsibilities

Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including standard and preventive maintenance

Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems utilizing diagnostic computers when applicable

Complete complex and detailed mechanical inspections & repairs with minimal supervision

Replace defective components as instructed

Work unsupervised on most tasks

Perform facility maintenance duties

Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints once a task is assigned

Utilize key functions of shop management system and electronic documentation

Work in accordance with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)

Act as mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels

Access and use internal and external maintenance documents

Perform other support duties as required, including Service Island support

Be trained in SBTIII within 180 days; complete two OEM online diagnostic scan tool software courses within 365 days
