Salary & Compensation
Hourly Pay: $29.50 per hour
Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained, up to $700
Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)
Sign On Bonus: $2,500 at 30 days and $2,500 at 90 days
Schedule: Monday–Friday; Weekends OFF
Hours: Second Shift 12:30 pm – 9:00 pm

Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Vocational or technical certifications, post‑secondary degree or technical certifications preferred
Basic tools required
Demonstrated ability in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including routine maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work) and basic diagnostics and repairs (AC and electrical systems)
Three (3) years or more relevant work experience preferred
Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
All other certifications required by location
Minimum two (2) years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy‑duty and medium‑duty equipment
Computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
Must be able to obtain a CDL within six months after hire
Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and background/Motor vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification for the last three years)
Important Note Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check, a road test, and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.
Responsibilities
Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including standard and preventive maintenance, diagnosing complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer when applicable, completing detailed inspections and repairs with minimal supervision, replacing defective components as instructed, and working unsupervised on most tasks
Perform facility maintenance duties
Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints once assigned a task
Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation
Work in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT)
Act as a mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
Access and use internal and external maintenance documents
Support duties as required to support operations (may include Service Island support)
Complete SBTIII training within 180 days (SBT220) and complete two of the OEM online diagnostic scan tool software courses required by the fleet (complete within 365 days)
