Pay & Benefits

Hourly Pay: $29.50 per hour

Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained, up to $700

Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 each quarter (four times per year)

Sign On Bonus: $2,500 at 30 days and $2,500 at 90 days

Schedule: Monday–Friday, Weekends OFF

Hours: Second Shift 12:30 pm – 9:00 pm

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Vocational/Technical certification or post‑secondary degree preferred

Basic tools required

Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gasoline or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)

Basic diagnostics and repairs, including AC and electrical systems (required)

Three or more years relevant work experience (preferred)

Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred

All other certifications required by location (required)

Minimum of 2 years experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy‑ and medium‑duty equipment

Computer proficiency: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.

Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire

Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and Ryder background & motor‑vehicle check (including drug/alcohol verification for last 3 years)

Responsibilities

Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including standard and preventive maintenance

Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer when applicable

Complete complex and detailed mechanical inspections & repairs with minimal supervision

Replace defective components as instructed

Work unsupervised on most tasks

Perform facility maintenance duties

Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint

Utilize key functions of shop management system and electronic documentation

Work in accordance with federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)

Act as mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels

Access and use internal/external maintenance documents

Perform additional support duties as required, e.g., Service Island support

Obtain SBTIII training within 180 days (SBT220)

Complete 2 of the OEM on‑line diagnostic scan‑tool software courses within 365 days (per location fleet mix)
