Process Technician – Plastic Injection Molding
Job Summary:
The Process Technician – Plastic Injection Molding is responsible for supporting daily injection molding operations by setting up, monitoring, adjusting, and troubleshooting molding processes to ensure safety, quality, and production efficiency in an automotive manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Manufacture "First Piece" and support quality to perform first piece approval.
Assure that Operation Procedures are followed. Propose changes as required.
Assess quality of product and adjust the process as needed within predetermined limits.
After forced shut down, assess safety and functionality of equipment and restart in automatic mode (E Stop, Machine Fault).
Monitor and document process control parameters and adjust process as needed within pre-determined limits. Maintain process change log.
Trouble‑shoot minor (mechanical) machine and tooling issues. This includes, but is not limited to: Re-attach loose components, Remove debris, dirt and oil, Replace air/hydraulic fittings and other easy to reach components (seals, O rings, ), Maintain issue log.
Assess reason for machine break down, issue INFOR work order and coordinate repairs with maintenance and supervisor.
Perform startup and shutdown procedure.
Perform "Technician driven Reliability activities" and document those in INFOR.
Refill/Replace raw materials and other consumables (Foam, Glue, Lubricants).
Shut down process due to safety or quality issues in coordination with Supervisor.
Keep machines and auxiliary equipment clean and in working order.
Support Process Improvements as directed by the Process Engineer.
Perform tool changes as directed by the Supervisor utilizing approved procedures.
Requirements:
2-3 years Automotive experience
Preferred Experience:
2-3 years Cold Knife Scoring: Basic Troubleshooting of vacuum systems.
2-3 years Foaming: Exchanging Iso / Polyol, Troubleshooting / calibration mix heads, Homing ABB robots, Seal time adjustments, Troubleshooting quality defects (voids, dents, etc.).
