Job Description: We are seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join a team in the Operating Room at a facility in Ithaca, NY. The ideal candidate will have experience and certification as a Surgical Technologist, along with a strong commitment to patient care and safety.
Responsibilities:
Count sponges, rags, needles, and instruments before, during, and after procedures to ensure accuracy and safety.
Ensure proper operation of equipment, such as lights and suction machines, during surgical procedures.
Assist the surgical team with scrubbing in and putting on gloves and masks as necessary.
Wash and sterilize all medical instruments and equipment following surgeries, adhering to strict sterilization protocols.
Clean, organize, and restock the operating room after surgical procedures to maintain a safe and efficient environment.
Requirements:
Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST).
Prior experience working in an Operating Room (OR) setting preferred.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work overnight shifts on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
