The Food Services Area Manager manages and directs the overall operations of the dietary department in numerous skilled nursing facilities in an assigned geographic area in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. The Area Manager is responsible for providing leadership to ensure that dietary quality standards, inventory levels, safety guidelines and customer service expectations are met. Pay is based on experience! We are offering a $1500 hiring bonus for the new Area Manager.

Responsibilities
Meet with Food Services District Managers and managers regularly to coach and provide feedback on performance, and to assist in managers’ professional development.
Lead quality dining programs that enhance the meal experience for the residents.
Ensure that dining programs meet federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
Ensure that the food service operation is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.
Respond to customer preferences to meet the needs of residents.
Maintain contact with clients to ensure satisfaction with services provided by Yona.
Train workers in dietary procedures and proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
Supervise and evaluate the quality of work completed by the Food Services Directors and Supervisors.
Maintain an environment that is sanitary, attractive, and orderly at each facility in the area.
Forecast and plan the purchase of supplies and equipment.
Review and analyze all reports for the district.
Interview, hire, and orient Food Services Directors and Supervisors for facilities in the district.
Maintain proper staffing levels at each facility.
Maintain knowledge of any applicable Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs) in the district.
Attain financial goals for each facility in the district by managing a cost‑effective program.
Maintain required records including inventory, compliance, income/expense, and personnel records.
Conduct regular management staff meetings and coordinate with other departments to integrate housekeeping activities.
Ensure the department is survey‑ready at all times, assuring operations within federal, state, and local regulations.
Actively participate in facility meetings and committees.
Report monthly initiatives, goals, and accomplishments.
Promote and monitor resident satisfaction.
Perform the job assignments of a Cook or Dietary Aide as necessary.
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
Associate’s or higher degree in food service management or hospitality, including a course of study in food service or restaurant management from an accredited institution.
Food service supervisory experience required; at least two years in long‑term care preferred.
Certification as a Dietary Manager or Food Protection Professional (CDM, CFPP) from the Certifying Board for Dietary Managers.
General business acumen.
Public speaking skills.
Excellent stress management, administrative, and organizational skills.
Ability to work all shifts as needed.
Proficient in the use of Windows‑based office software, including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
