PARK & FACILITY MAINTENANCE I Classification: Entry‑level under immediate supervision.

Perform manual labor in the care & maintenance of Salina Municipal Golf Course.

Planting & maintenance of trees, removing trees, shrubs, & stumps.

Maintain turf & grounds on fairways & greens (seeding, watering, top dressing, planting flowers, weed removal, painting, fence repair, dirt work).

Assist in the installation & maintenance of irrigation systems.

Recognize plant diseases & take appropriate action.

May perform some concrete work.

Perform janitorial duties in & around the golf course.

Thee work on special projects & assignments.

Administer basic first aid if needed.

Respond in emergency situations within scope of training.

Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.

Education: Eighth grade graduate. CPR & First Aid certifications desired.

Experience: Lawn maintenance or golf course work preferred. Previous experience with non‑powered hand tools used to maintain grounds at the golf course.

Equipment: Non‑powered hand tools, hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers, shovels, rakes, blowers, hand‑held non‑powered clippers & edgers, as assigned.

Must be able to follow instructions.

Must be a self‑starter & work productively.

Must have excellent problem‑solving skills & demonstrate good judgment.

Maintain a high standard of customer service.

Maintain positive & cooperative working relationships.

Work outdoors in temperatures often exceeding 90°F.

Communicate well with patrons of varied ages and backgrounds.

Demonstrate kindness & a professional attitude.

Communicate verbally & in writing.

Requirements: Sixteen (16) year olds may work in a non‑driving capacity. Seventeen (17) year olds must have a valid driver’s license. Reliable transportation required. Available to work shifts. Attend required trainings & meetings. Follow scheduling protocols. Respond promptly to all communication. Ability to lift 10‑40 pounds frequently.

PARK & FACILITY MAINTENANCE II Classification: Mid‑level under general supervision.

Fulfill duties of Maintenance I as needed.

Supervise Maintenance I staff in absence of Superintendent.

Diagnose needs for chemical applications.

Apply fertilizers & pesticides as required.

Diagnose conditions for disease, irrigation, mowing.

Perform minor electrical & plumbing work.

Service & perform minor repairs to equipment.

Equipment: Tractors, utility vehicles, movers, backhoes, chippers, dump trucks, man‑lifts, medium‑sized loaders, post‑hole digger, precision mowers, rototiller, seeders, & top dressers.

Hand Tools: Chain saws, blowers, power tools, hedge trimmers, sprayers, edgers.

Must be able to follow instructions.

Must be a self‑starter & work productively.

Must have excellent problem‑solving skills & demonstrate good judgment.

Maintain a high standard of customer service.

Maintain positive & cooperative working relationships.
