– $15.00–$35.00 per hour.
The Salon Retail Coordinator is responsible for the operation and functional management of the front desk. This position reports to the Salon Manager and is nonexempt. Great customer service is an art, and we are seeking artists. The goal is to make each guest feel as if they are the most important person we see all day.
Position Description The Salon Retail Coordinator oversees front desk operations, ensuring efficient customer experience, scheduling, payments, and up‑selling services and products.
Client Sales & Service Responsibilities
Suggest retail products, upsell, promote additional services.
Cross‑sell services to other salon areas.
Respond professionally to service issues and address complaints promptly.
Handle booking mistakes or corrective work.
Process refunds and re‑do’s in a professional, friendly manner.
Continue personal education on products, services, and industry issues.
Promote business outside the salon.
Adjust schedule to meet client needs.
Telephone / Reception Responsibilities
Acknowledge client within 60 seconds of entry.
Answer phone within three rings, smiling, stating name and salon location.
Listen before placing client on hold.
Schedule, cancel, and re‑schedule client appointments efficiently.
Handle POS transactions promptly.
Emphasize pre‑bookings during client check‑out.
Salon and Personal Presentation Responsibilities
Maintain reception area and salon to exceed State Board Regulations.
Keep reception area clean and organized.
Organize time and resources to meet sales goals.
Communicate with Salon Management about issues and needs.
Adhere to salon guidelines for attendance and tardiness.
Maintain a professional appearance and meet dress code.
Education and Experience
GED or high school diploma.
Proficiency in computer‑based business software.
Ability to handle money, count and make change.
Customer service or cosmetic industry experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
Use computer keyboard, telephone, and other business equipment.
Work with chemicals and chemical compounds.
Stand for up to 8‑hour shifts.
Lift up to 25 pounds.
