Mechanical Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift

Mechanical Maintenance Technician
Role at KYOCERA SENCO Industrial Tools.
Reporting to Maintenance Department Manager.
Scope: Mechanical Machine Repair
Basic Function Responsible for completing repairs on any and all Facilities and/or Manufacturing Equipment.
Primary Responsibilities
Installs, repairs, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance.
Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
Dismantles machinery and removes/replaces defective parts.
Determines changes in requirements of parts by inspecting and measuring various instruments.
Maintains equipment, parts, and supply inventories by checking stock and placing orders.
Prepares maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Maintain and operate plant compressed air systems.
Perform daily rounds to ensure proper equipment operation.
Perform preventative maintenance activities on all of the above systems and equipment to ensure consistent and reliable operation.
Repair/Rebuild/Replace: Gearboxes, Mill stands, Shafts, Seals, Bearings, Brake assemblies, Hydraulics and Air Cylinders, Lines, Fittings, Elevators, Timing Belts, Safety Windows.
Maintain and operate hot water boilers and associated equipment.
Maintain and operate water chillers and associated equipment.
Maintain and operate heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems and controls of various types.
Perform project work as required.
Assist the water treatment plant operator with tasks.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Technician or equivalent educational certificate.
A high school diploma/GED is preferred.
Must be willing to work in cooperation with Management, Department Team Leads, and Mechanics.
Must be willing to work well with others.
Must have above-average mechanical aptitude.
Some experience in water treatment is preferred but not required.
Can stay on task with minimum managerial supervision.
Knowledge and ability to operate hand and power tools.
Must have physical dexterity.
Has excellent troubleshooting skills.
Has a working knowledge of health and safety regulations.
Requirements
Must furnish own set of standard hand tools.
Must be able to obtain a material handling vehicle license.
Must be able to read and write proficientlyli>
Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.
100% of the time, must be able to lift, stoop, bend, walk, pull, and carry +/- 75 pounds.
Must follow the lockout/tagout practice up to SENCO’s safety policy when on the floor and working on repairs.
Must be able to work off shifts and/or overtime when assigned, sometimes on short notice.
Must be able to walk throughout SENCO’s manufacturing campus, up to 530,000 square feet.
100% of the time spent standing throughout shift.
Must be able to withstand continuous exposure to disagreeable noise, dirt, and fumes within the OSHA allowance.
Must be comfortable working in an environment where there is possible exposure to lost‑time accidents, including but not limited to the hands, arms, feet, or back.
