Youth Enrichment Services
Responsibilities
Perform maintenance and emergency repairs as needed.
Complete minor repairs such as patching holes and painting.
Repair electrical receptacles, wires, switches, and fixtures.
Complete minor plumbing repairs such as replacement of sinks, water coolers, toilets, showers, and other plumbing items.
Paint as needed for touch‑up after repairs.
Complete work order forms.
Perform preventative maintenance activities and update related logs.
Hang and repair doors and install locks.
Replace broken windowpanes.
Perform general maintenance on equipment and machinery.
Perform general maintenance and repairs to heating and cooling units such as replacing pumps, motors, and minor parts.
Assist with grounds maintenance by applying fertilizers and weed killers.
Maintain a safe and healthful work environment at all times.
Establish a high degree of rapport with assigned WBL students.
Provide regular feedback to students regarding appropriate employability skills.
Follow CDSS plan and Code of Conduct system daily.
Work towards meeting performance standards goals.
Adhere to required property controls policies and procedures.
Maintain good housekeeping and comply with safety practices.
Comply with all DOL guidelines, OFCCP regulation, Quality Assurance Plan (QAP), Bizzell’s policies and procedures, Job Corps notices and bulletins, and Center policies and procedures.
Demonstrate and abide by The Bizzell Group’s core values and operating principles.
Model, mentor, and monitor appropriate Career Success Standards.
Help students become more employable through continuous reinforcement.
Participate in PRH mandated staff training (failure to participate may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination).
Perform other duties as assigned.
Present information clearly and concisely and regularly confirm correct interpretation of information.
Have very high standard of communication skills both written and verbal for presentation of facts and ideas.
Show professional non‑verbal body language and actively listen to others.
Be action oriented. Demonstrate ability to handle several projects simultaneously with decision‑making, flexibility, and problem solving.
Implement key principles of time management, task allocation, and priority assignment in addition to personal organization.
Show attention to detail and ability to complete work with the highest level of accuracy and efficiency.
Continually seek ways to improve employment services provided via development of professional skills and personal growth.
Demonstrate professional interpersonal skills when interacting with others and abide by The Bizzell Group's Healthy Workplace Environment policy.
Act as a team player and build professional relationships with coworkers to achieve goals.
Requirements
Perform this job successfully; individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Computer literacy with basic computer functions, email, internet, and basic programs such as Adobe Acrobat.
Basic knowledge of crafts skills such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical, landscaping, painting, etc.
Knowledge in the use of trade‑related hand and power tools.
Attention to detail in building maintenance.
Minimum of one to two years’ experience in building maintenance.
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Valid State Driver’s License.
Physical demands: employee regularly required to sit and stand and walk; reach with hands and arms, talk and listen; occasionally required to sit; handle or feel with hands and fingers; taste and smell; lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; various vision capabilities; physical stamina required to handle full shift of activity.
