Laboratory Coordinator Location:

2010 N Interstate Ave, Portland, OR 97227. Hybrid work available after probation.

Appointment : Full‑time.

Schedule : Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. (Alternate schedules may be available.)

Responsibilities

Oversee the laboratory’s Quality System and serve as the primary point of contact for all QA/QC activities.

Review and manage quality control data, write or review SOPs and the Quality Manual, ensuring compliance with standardized analytical processes.

Maintain training records for iDOCs/DOCs, manage QA documentation for LOQs/MDLs, and monitor laboratory certifications.

Initiate, track corrective actions, conduct internal audits, and coordinate proficiency testing to maintain ORELAP accreditation.

Provide customer support for laboratory data users by validating sample results, responding to inquiries, and investigating technical concerns.

Represent the laboratory in the design and maintenance of information systems, and participate in decisions concerning laboratory information management software.

Qualifications

Experience applying chemical and microbiology protocols (Standard Methods, US EPA Methods, NELAP/ORELAP) for drinking water.

Experience applying QA/QC principles to inorganic/organic chemistry, microbiology, quantitative analysis, and maintaining compliance with EPA, TNI, 40 CFR 141, and other regulations.

Experience as the focal point for QA/QC activities, including reviewing data, writing SOPs, managing proficiency testing, and ensuring compliance with accreditation programs.

Experience initiating and tracking corrective actions, internal audits, responding to technical questions, and resolving non‑conformances.

Experience providing customer service for laboratory data users, reviewing analytical results, and ensuring data accuracy within LIMS.

Additional Requirements

A degree in chemistry, environmental science, biology, microbiology or a related field, plus 4–6 years of progressively responsible analytical laboratory experience.
