Hourly Pay $12.50 – $14.00
Summary The Manager in Training assists the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager with overall operations and administrative duties.
The role requires familiarity with each product area or department, a strong understanding of sales and inventory, and the ability to uphold Hibbett’s policies, procedures, and customer service standards.
The Manager in Training is responsible for promoting merchandise, providing exceptional customer service, and assuming supervisory control in the Store Manager’s absence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett.
Consult with store leadership to establish action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
Assume responsibility for the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager.
Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers across all departments when necessary.
Maintain awareness of inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability.
Direct staff to ensure each department’s responsibilities and standards are completed.
Keep the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends.
Ensure quality customer service is maintained.
Perform general administrative duties and be trained in the Store Manager’s responsibilities.
Deliver extraordinary customer service as outlined in the customer service manual, including assisting customers upon entry and during peak periods.
Promote and sell services and merchandise offered by Hibbett.
Practice and uphold all Hibbett policy manuals and memos.
Protect company assets by ensuring internal controls and reporting potential fraud risks.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise employees in the absence of the Store Manager, including interviewing, training, assigning work, and resolving problems.
Qualifications
Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
1–3 years of customer service experience.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with overall goals and profits.
Self‑starter with initiative to take on important tasks without being asked.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and with precision.
Team‑player who is passionate about outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.
