Job Overview
Innovative Audio and Video is a small, customer‑centric team dedicated to installing, integrating, and servicing the latest audio/visual and home automation technology in residential, commercial, and retail environments.
Typical Day As a Technician, you will work in homes and businesses to install, integrate, and service AV and automation equipment. A typical week might involve pulling wire in construction sites, mounting televisions and projectors, troubleshooting onsite client systems, and providing training to end‑users.
Pulling wire at residential homes under construction
Hanging televisions and mounting projectors in commercial conference rooms
Onsite troubleshooting of client systems that cannot be resolved remotely
Responsibilities
Installation and service of audio/visual, networking, security, and automation equipment
Running and terminating low‑voltage wiring during construction and after
Trenching, conduit, and landscape audio/lighting installation
Interpreting floor plans and system designs
Terminating head‑end system components
Understanding installation interfaces between control systems and subsystems
Troubleshooting audio, visual, and automation equipment
Installing and setting up networks
Performing regular site visits for ongoing projects
Providing regular progress reports to the team
Training clients on their technology and answering questions with patience and friendliness
Maintaining detailed notes and tracking time accurately
Adapting to shifting priorities and juggling multiple demands
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience in low‑voltage, especially AV & custom technology integration
Comprehensive knowledge of residential systems integration (audio/video, lighting, shades, climate control, security, CCTV, telephone, and networks)
Bonus: Experience with Savant
Experience in a client‑facing role
Degree a plus but not required
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
Reliable transportation and clean driving record
Professional appearance at all times
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Willingness to embody the company’s core values, purpose, and passion
Positive attitude, ability to excel under pressure, and self‑accountability
Basic hand tools, including a cordless drill, are required
